My name is Pastor Daniel Kouadio, and I am the Senior Pastor and President of Detroit Church of Restoration. My journey to Detroit was not planned — it was a divine calling from God that completely changed the course of my life and ministry.

In March 2024, I was traveling from McAlester, Oklahoma, to Quebec City, Canada, for a leadership conference. After driving for fourteen hours, I stopped in Detroit, Michigan, to rest for the night. The next morning, as I prepared to leave my hotel, I noticed many homeless men and women gathered outside. My heart was deeply moved with compassion, and in that moment, the Lord spoke to me clearly: “Shut down your ministry in Oklahoma and move to Detroit. There is a great need here.”

Though the call was challenging, I chose to obey. As I prepared to move, God spoke again — this time telling me to leave everything behind: my business, my home, and even my church. He wanted me to come to Detroit with nothing but faith.

Two months later, I arrived in Detroit, trusting God completely. My family and I stayed in a hotel while believing for His provision. Four months later, God blessed us with our first Men’s Home, marking the beginning of what would become Detroit Church of Restoration.

Since then, God has continued to open doors. The community has embraced us, and together, we are witnessing lives being transformed, restored, and renewed by His power.
